Steering wheel lock Recall.
Just recently had a 00 c5 coupe in the dealer for some AC work, while it was there they went ahead and did the recall on the steering lock problem..
It never had a problem before hand. Till today.....
Its locked up, cant do anything with it at all, its sitting at work in the parking lot.
Has anyone herd of the recall causing problems? Also in my mind this is not my fault, the dealer is the one who insisted on fixing this..
Do I have a leg to stand on, for them to cover the towing and down time of my car?
Also any way to get the wheel unlocked? Iv tired everything I know.
I.e. "turning the wheel, let it sit, rocked the car, etc etc."
BTW the car is a 6 speed..

Sorry to hear about this - there must only be about 257 threads on this subject.... one even started by me!!
This is PRECISELY why I installed the Column Lock Bypass from Corvettes of Houston and have NOT allowed the dealership to perform the recall. Don't get me started on dealers....
I would certainly think you would have "a leg to stand on" regarding them paying for the towing AND fixing it correctly this time.
