I know you can add a shock sensor to the stock alarm, so there is a constant output while armed (Not sure if it's 12V+ or ground). You will have to find a flashing LED as the output is constant (an aftermarket alarm has a pulsed output for the LED).
Connector C3, Pin A6, PPL wire (negitive lead of LED)
Connector C3, Pin A3, GRY/BLK wire (positve lead of LED)
this will iluminate the LED only when the ignition is off, and the coutesy light time has expired. In other words lights when the car is locked up, doors closed, no key in ignition. It is in no was saying the alarm is armed.
Use a LOW current flashing LED available at radio shack p/n 276-036.
Do not use high brightness LED's or and incandesent type light they draw to much current. Do not use any light or device that is greater then 100mA.
You will also need to add a 1/4 watt 470 Ohm resister in series with the LED. ( YOU MUST HAVE THIS RESISTER )
C3-A6 ---> 470 Ohm ---> Led ---> C3-A3
If youy have any questions just email me with your number or question and i will get back to you.
Make sure you dont short anything out, and double check your connections. It is importent you hook the LED up correctly there is a plus and minus side to the LED.
You can double check this by using a DMM across C3-A6 & C3-A3
I did several year ago.
It was easy
I got a Led that blink when on from someone on the internet.
Then I went to the C-5 tech area on the form and see how it was install. I also got a devise that puge into a fuse socket that has an extra wire on it. I put the LED on the dash were the vent is by the winsheild. The vent just pop out. Dill a small hold and the LED pop in.
Run the three wires down to the footwell to the inside fuse box and follow the istructions.
Took just over an hour to complete.
