Default Column Lock Simulator

I just purchased a column lock simulator. It states to look for the 4 wires(purple, orange, black, green) going to a black connector. Not to sound stupid but, where under the drivers dash do you find them, Near the key, up on the steering column? a little direction would be appreciated. Thanks

You have to unscrew two screws and remove, or lower, the driver's side knee bolster to access the plug you're looking for. It's a small, square shaped plug. HTH

BTW, the screws are a T-15 Torx size.

Welp, I didn't particularly notice mine having a bad attitude, but then who knows?

Kidding aside, yes the connector you're looking for is very easy to get at once the knee bolster is down. HTH

There is a post that has pictures of the column lock actuator connection. It should be the second one to the left of the yellow connector for the air bag, directly below the steering column. You have to remove the lower knee panel to get to it.

I will attach a link with the pictures if I can find it.

Found some pictures at 97vette.com

Once you have the knee bolster off, it's easy to find if you know where to look. When I did mine, I couldn't find the four wire connector for love nor money!!! Gees, I was ticked!!! I finally used a mirror to look around and there it was!!

It was hiding behind a larger piece if harness. Once I found it, it was a piece of cake!!!
