Default No start NEED help!

I have a 2001 ZO6 sometimes when I try to start the car nothing happens. I have full power and all the gauges cycle as they wood normally but it doesn't start. If I keep messing with it turning the car on and off it will eventually start. Also every so often when the car starts the security light stays on. I have read a post on here of other members having similiar problems. I believe it is the ignition cylinder but GM says they cant fix untill it breaks for good and the car wont start. Please let me know what you guys think. Thanks

My first thought is battery connection but I've seen the cylinder act the same.

Default I had the same problem

I had the same identical problem with my 99 Vette.Andy cleaned the battery cables and it solved my problem.Try it !! You can clean the cables in about 10 mins..Worth a try and IT could save you some cash.Right on,Charlie.

The batt. cables are in good shape and tight. I dont think that would have any relation to the security light staying on. Thanks for the reply.
