I installed a large stand alone tranny cooler to my A4. It now doesn't overheat on track days etc. The rest of the tranny is stock, running 470 RWH and keeping my fingers crossed.

How much are these?
Can they be installed without droping the drive train??
As far as the fluid goes, if you have a built tranny then you should check with the builder before using synthetic ATF. Synthetic ATF like Redline or Amsoil can be incompatible with the clutches that are used.
Unless you are using the car on a road course, the B&M 70266 should be able to keep your A4 under 200 degrees even in the Texas heat

:
FLP does not recommend sythetic ATF with their trannys.
Dirty Howie,The TCI trans pan is $129.99,Comes w/gasket& bolts.Just take off old pan put new one on very simple,Of course you have to have the car jacked up, and you can use the stock filter too.The only problem is it does'nt have a fill plug only a drain plug.Jegs has a trans pan drain plug kit.Part #555-60175 $6.69.What I did I disconnected the top line off the rad and pumped the tranny fluid through that line with a fuel pump I had.I made sure the fluid went in before I put the new pan on.My car is lowered and there is no clearence problems.I posted pics before,as soon as I figure out how I did it I will post them.

Paul:
Thanks for the pics. Looks like it has some cooling fins as well ?
Your car does look low. Mine is 26 front and 27 rear...ground to fender well lip.
So you are saying there is no side mounted fill hole. I didn't even realize this hole is on the pan even though I've watched the tranny fluid being toped off twice during moding. So since the correct fill is to have the tranny fluid coming out the side as you plug it.....how do you know if you have the correct level???????

High Water Howie....
The Tranny fluid capacity sensor in your DIC needs to be reprogrammed to account for the extra capacity provided by the TCI trans pan. Very slick mod!
