Hi just bought one for my 98 convert.Only one way to plug it in,,Directions seem to be a little confusing...Can anybody offer some assistance..Nobody answers phone on thier tech line....TIA
Do you have the programming instructions? If not, send me a fax number and I can get them to you. The company is still iaround. I talked to the owner yesterday at a car show.
Anybody care to explain the PIN? I read and re-read those instructions. No where does it tell you how to apply the PIN...nor what the Pin is.
The instructions say the PIN is on the unit. All I see is an apparent part number consisting of 9's and 0's as well as other digits. I cannot figure out how to apply a 9 or a 0 as some radio codes do with the station buttons.
I've had one from the git-go and find it handy. No problems with the install or instructions, if followed to a tee.
However, the window-up function is worthless because the "obstruction/auto-down" safety feature is way too sensitive. If the windows are down an hour or so, the weatherstrip "relaxes" enough to trigger the autodown safety feature when run up with the FOB. If you have both tops and change them... forgetaboutit.
With a coupe, this feature was what I wanted most when I ordered, a quick, easy way to run the windows up if it started raining and I was in a restaurant or some such, but no go. It's still handy to run the windows down on hot days when approaching the car.
Hope this experience is of value to prospective buyers.

All the best.
Sometimes my windows will go back down due to sensitivity, I have to watch and make sure the the windows stay up. I left my windows opened b/c of this one night outside . For the most time however, it goes up and stays up. I love it for letting the hot air escape and having the radio on when I get into the car. Plus, it makes all my friends jealous!

I had this happen - didn't even notice that the windows went back down until my wife told me I had left my windows open!
I sent a question about this to the company, and Michael Fuller, the company president, was kind enough to respond. He suggested a recalibration as follows:
With the top locked in place and both doors closed, press and hold the reset button and tap the driver's door panel unlock button, release reset. Then press 4, 1, 2, and enter the last four digits of the Window Valet serial number (found on the documentation and also on the side of the Window Valet itself). The windows will lower and raise and the calibration data will be reloaded.
This usually solves the problem. If you continue to have difficulties, please let us know.
I haven't tried this yet, since the problem is quite intermittant. But, I appreciated the quick response. Maybe it will help.
I've seen this comment before about the window valet...
I don't get it??
I have a vert...when I put the top down, my windows automatically lower, as do everyone else's, correct? As far as lowering the windows with the key FOB, you can only do this when in range I'm sure... such as when you approach the car... I'll spend the $150 on a better mod than this...

What am I missing?
Best part for me is raising the windows w/the FOB after you put the top back up vs. getting back in, putting the key in the ignition and raising the window. Seems trivial, but once you have it...

Ahhhh.. now I get it!!
I think the problem I have is that:
One: The top is ALWAYS down...
Two: It is a garage queen and if it's not nice out, we don't drive it..
Though shame on me for not putting the top up at all during the summer... Leaves the horrid wrinkles...
