Default Weiand Intake Manifold Questions

My neighbor's dad is de-modding his Z06. He has a polished Weiand intake manifold that he will sell me for $400. I have a 98 coupe. First question, is the intake compatible with my 98 LS1 and stock throttle body? Second, if this is the only modification (besides a Blackwing and exhaust), would I see any HP gains? Thirdly, if other mods must be done to be compatible, what are they? Will this fit under a stock hood? Here is the intake he is selling:

Your best bet would be to get an LS6 intake made out of that composite material your current LS1 intake is made out of...the issue you will find with metal intakes on the LSx motor is it acts as a big heat container...thus the hotter it gets, the less the performance you receive. Secondly, the intake (should you get it) should fit your TB and bolt right up to your LS1 but there are coolant line changes you need to address. Best guess on a fairly stock setup would be 5 or so HP from the intake itself (some see more, but this is the usual)...if you plan on doing anything else to the car I.E. headers, heads, Cam etc... the LS6 intake is a must have. By the way- you can get a new LS6 intake with gaskets and coolant line reroute from SLP for that price...

I put the weiland on my 2000.It already had 360 RWH.It looks good.Unless you are drag racing,it is ok.A lot of laps would heat it up.
I use a ice bag after five or more runs
