Has anyone found a way to keep the water from pouring into the trunk area of there coups when you open the rear in the rain? I though i saw in some catalog modified weatherstrip with extensions at the forward section.
You have your vette out in the rain?????? Shame on you.
Just don't open it in the rain is all I can tell you. Mine will run from the bottom of the lid and fall onto the carpet at the bend where it goes up towards the roofline if I open it too fast right after washing it. I assume that's what you are talking about.

Ecklers has a new weatherstrip that comes standard on the never vette's. It has a little rubber piece at the end that directs the water outward. It works. I did it on my '98. You do still have to open the lid a little slow though.

I have an '04 and I believe it has this new design that you are talking about. On mine it will still drip into the cargo area if you open the lid too fast. You have to hold it about 6-12" open for a few seconds to let it drain first, but at least you can just do that and prevent water from getting in.
