Default Electrical Problem: Help

Had car out of trailer 2 weeks ago without any problems. New battery working well. Engine ran fine and I did my fluid changes and suspension check.

Today, took battery off charger, and car wouldn't start. Had multiple clicks when trying to start, but engine didn't turn over. Then, the clicking continued even when the key was removed from the ignition. The clicking was coming from an electric box under the passengers feet and also somewhere from the engine bay.

I disconnected the battery for 15 minutes and then reconnected it. It registered 12.5 V and all seemed well with the hood light on etc. I tried to start the engine again, and got a single click and then nothing . No hood light on and battery registered 10V for a while. Clicking again continued until the battery was disconnected.

I am completely stumped. Any ideas?

Double check for the battery cables being tight, and check the neg cable and make sure it is tight. I had this happen twice, once the wire on the starter was loose, and the other was the ground cable.

Just a follow-up on this. It was a loose battery cable. Simple fix. Sure was a lot of wierd happenings from something so simple.

Roy, you are absolutely right. I don't think I've ever encountered a vehicle where so many seemingly unassociated issues can be resolved by such a simple proceedure. This car seems to be especially sensitive to electrical connectivity issues. For that reason anytime I encounter extraneous and especially simultaneous, unrelated electrical issues the first thing I do or suggest is to clean and retighten the battery terminals. I have been amazed at how many issues with this car get resolved with nothing more than that.
