I'm running 273 diff and would like more quickness off the line but want to keep good gas mileage on the highway. I've even thought about a programer but don't know if that would help as much as changing diff. Trying to decide between 315 or 342. Any suggestions? The only other mod is I have a dual cone air breather.
What is your driving style? What other performance mods are you doing to do in the future? What is your highest priority - gas mileage or performance?
Most people will tell you that the 3.15:1 is not worth the cost and effort, and I agree. Start with the 3.42:1 gears, IMHO.
3:42 is prolly what you want. I went with the 3:73, but my car came with 3:15 and I wanted more than 3:42. My around town mileage went down cause I'm also in the gas ( until I reach the speed limit) but my Highway only went down a mile or 2 per gallon
