Default Horn/alarm issue

I woke up at 1am to my horn sounding continuously. No lights flashing, just the horn blaring continuously. Had to pull horn fuse to get it to stop. Any clues???????????????

Other owners have reported this problem - it's usually the switch in the steering wheel pad that's bad and shorts. The real problem is that the switch and airbag are integrated, so in order to fix this problem you would need to replace the entire center pad including the airbag, which is big bucks.

I hope this isn't your problem.

Is this a dealer repair or can I buy the center pad and swap out myself? How can I determine if that is in fact the fault?
