any benefit to polishing headers?

was wondering if there was any benefit to polishing the flange on the header?

I was referring to the inside .. where the pipe is welded to the flange .. there seems to be a slight bump on the inside ..

I wouldn't think so as that is probably an inside weld..........

Well, there shouldn't be a bump there

What I've seen is they tack the flange to the tubes, then they weld the inside all the way around. Finnish by grinding smooth.

A quality header shouldn't have a "bump" in the port.

What brand header are we talking about?

I would clean it up with a dremel tool... couldn't hurt to spend a few minutes on it.
