Guy's,
Is there a noticeable and positive handling difference by doing the swap? Fred Beans sells the pair for around $700.
Thoughts/comments, Thanks...Bob [/IMG]
notice that the general is building the Z06 to be like your car. Now you can make your car like a Z06 Totally, man, do the springs, hek it is a sportscar, sposed to be "firm"
Then the T- "trunk Kit" bars, bar links, '04 Z06 shocks. (The uipper and lower A-arms if you can afford them) ,then get some red Z06 calipers, `$400/set, sell the greys to a racer, same part different color. Look great on your beautiful white car. Then the Dfour Rippie front brake ducts. She loves brake cooling. then take her out to PIR roval and see if you think it was worth it. Send pics. cheers
Bob, Z06 fanatic.
I would recommend the springs. I did my conversions in stages of about 1 year between each change. First was the Z06 sway bars, then 2004 Z06 shocks, and finally the Z06 springs this July. The springs were the most expensive upgrade, but it really pulled the whole suspension performance together to work as a system. It is not that much more firm, but it really added to the stability. I have a freeway on-ramp that I drive every day that has a seam in it that would make the car wiggle at higher speeds. Not a very comfortable feeling. The Z06 springs fixed that problem, completely stable when the bump is hit while negotiating the curve.
I upgraded sway bars and shocks and had them for a while. I then put on Z06 springs. They made a big difference in my opinion and I wish I did them sooner.

MagRedSkull and JeffJeff,
Very interesting!
Thank You
Bob
I did the Z06 springs, swaybars with Bilstein shocks. When you replace the springs, lower the car at the same time. I cut the front bolt bushing in half and replaced the rear bolts with longer bolts. This setup allows about 1 1/4" wheel well gap over the tires. The car has a nice tight ride but not harsh. I took it to Summit Point and quickly learned I don't have the guts to push it as hard as it can go. Do it.
I had a Z51 suspension, but the 1999 FRC flavor meaning the sway bar end links were plastic and the sway bars were thinner than the Z06 bars. I had the front spring already, so I bought the rear spring, metal end links, Z06 sway bars, but installed QA1 shocks. My car is lowered 1". I played with the settings on the QA1's and now the car rides so much better than before. The ride isn't stiffer, it's just firmer. There is less 'spring bounce' so there is better control. Also, the rear end and front end seem to track together better in hard turns. Before I would hit a turn hard and the rear end would stick like glue, but would break traction suddenly and I would need to quickly react to bring it back. It happened a few times and I really didn't like it. Now the rear starts to 'drift' with a little understeer as it 'moves' out. A little gas and it is back under control or I can let it drift out and 'follow it with the steering wheel. I feel sooo much safer at speed around corners now. I'm back in control. I also got a Z06 alignment.
