Headlight Prob...Need help ASAP

Been having this prob for a while just never got around to getting it fixed but its just too annoying now and need some help to figure out whats wrong with it.
Right now if I turn the light switch up one click-normal should just turn on the guage lights and allow you to turn on your fogs. But when I click up once...the headlights pop up. No lights-they just pop up.
Now...If I move the switch up again-normally where you would put it to have the lights on. They pop up...but no light.
Now...If I turn on the Twilight Sentinel on the DIC....and its dark outside, they pop up and the lights turn on.
Also, when the I turn the lights off...the headlights go down but the left side keeps on making this loud clicking motor noise like the motor is still making it go down even though its already down. This didnt always happen...just happened recently and prob my fault. Tryin to fix the other problems...I tried to manual raise/lower the headlights...well I accidently kept on turning the **** in one direction and invention I heard a click-like I turned it too much???
Not sure...like I said...the motors still work fine-they go up and down fine...drivers side just keeps doing it for like 5-7 secs after its already down.
So...those are my headlight probs!
Anyone got any ideas?
I recently went through a series of electrical problems in my C5 that ended up involving condensation from the AC entering the Body Control Module in the passenger's foot well. As a result, all sorts of seemingly unrelated issues occurred, not the least of which was that the battery would be drained and not be able to start the car.
Before I figured out what the genesis of the problem was it seemed I was charging my battery every couple of days. Each time I connected my charger to the battery, the first thing that would occur would be the chatter from one of my headlight motors. There was nothing wrong with my headlight motor or mechanism as it turned out, but the low electrical power somehow was affecting/confusing the limit switches on that one headlight causing it to chatter.
The point of all this is that since your car is a 2000, and if you have the original battery in it, it is possible that some if not all of your electrical issues may be related to a less than optimum battery. What I have discovered about this car is that it is hypersensitive to issues related to electrical voltage and connectivity.
The first thing I would recommend is to try to eliminate the BCM as a source of problems by ensuring it is completely dry and there is no evidence of water on or around it, from any source. (If you see any evidence of rusty residue around the passenger foot well, this is an indication that condensation is overflowing onto the blower motor where it causes rust and then flowing down into the foot well where lots of electronics are.)
I would then check the overall condition of the battery to ensure it was remaining fully charged and that the terminals are free of corrosion. By the way, looking at my battery provided no evidence of corrosion, that is until I removed the cable. That's where I found corrosion and decided to replace the battery before any real damage occurred.
Good luck and let us know how you resolve the problem… GUSTO
