traction problems
So I recently put on a set of Z06 wheels and tires on my 99 FRC. Bought them used with Michelin Pilot Sports on the rear (5/32 tread left). Had been running the stock wheels and tires (EMT's).
Problem now is, and much to my chagrin, I cannot get the car to hook-up! Just spins hard through 1st and a good bit in 2nd, where the old runflats seemed to stick.
According to the specs on tirerack (not sure how accurate they are) the EMT's are 5 pounds heavier each (!!!). Could that be it? The lighter tire is that much easier to spin. Or the lower profile of the z06 tire? Or the Michelin's just don't hook up? Or a combination?
I was really thinking the wider tire would be a good deal better...
