probs with euro's
Installed euro's as per instructions, cut the white wire and now I have no brake lights and I get "service traction sys" even without moving.
If I reconnect the white wire the message goes away .......any ideas???

It almost sounds as though you may have cut a wire on the wrong plug. I have a 2000, and I have friends with a 2001 and a 2002. We all installed the euro lights, cut the white wire, and they all work fine. All cutting the white wire should do is stop the ambers from lighting up when the brakes are applied. If you do not cut the white wire, the ambers will illuminate, along with the reds, whenever you step on the brakes. With the white wire cut, the ambers (only) should come on when turn signals are used or flashers are activated.

I did everything the instructions said........
I looked @ the harness that I got and it has 6 pins.......the harness on my car('98) has seven.....I think thats the problem.
do you know if the harnesses are year specific??

OK I'll take a stab at this- I too had a crappy harness. Caused my brake lights to not work but turn on my parking and fog lights. I found it was a bad ground in the euro harness.
Seems that the ground in the tail light circuit is related to the traction control system. What I did, was take a tap splice, splice into the ground wire of the brake light harness's BRAKE wire. And then, ground the new "ground wire" to the grounding point behind the left rear wheel (nut removes with deep 10 mm socket) using ring terminal. While in there, CLEAN that ground.
Give this a shot. I'll almost bet this fixes the problem.

That sounds like the likeliest solution.
Can you tell me what color the ground wire was??
I am going to wait till I hear from the guy who sold it to me before I start cutting any more wires......maybe he has another harness.
I really don't want to start splicing if I don't have to
If anybody else has any more ideas......?
Thanks again for all responses.

So thats why my ambers light up when i brake. Oh sorry i wasnt the one who installed mine. They were already installed and someone had mentioned that they light up when i brake and I thought it was normal. Good thing this was brought up. Good luck on finding your gremlins
