Default Rear tires rubbing.

I have a set of Bob's 18x12 Z06's with 335/30's on them, and I noticed that I am rubbing the inner fender well pretty bad on the passenger side and just a bit on the drivers side. I have had these on all summer long with no problems and in the past few days I have noticed this. The car is only lowered about 3/4 of an inch. Could the rear shocks be going out? The car is an 02 coupe with 21k on it. It seems as if they rub when I hit a bump and pull out of me driveway.
Thanks for any suggestions.

Jason

Kinda sounds like your wheel alignment (camber I believe) has changed. Did you bottom out or do any work on the rear end before this happened?

No, the car has mostly just been sitting in the garage.

Check your tire pressure. If its cooler it is probably low and could also be from sitting. Lower pressure will alow tire sway and may be enough to cause the problem.

Went to the dealer, and had the camber checked, as well as the rear shocks, everything back there checked out okay, I've had the tires filled with nitrogen since this spring and the pressure never changes. On the way home I didnt hear any rubbing at all, maybe it was just one of those things! I'll work on getting some pics.

Is nitrogen O.K. to use with the sensors? If so sounds like a good idea to use it.

The dealership is where I had mine filled and they said that it has no affect on the sensors at all. Mine has been this way since early spring.

Yeah, keep believing that!!

That's why all the pressurized nitrogen bottles and tires on my plane have sliding pressure scales based on temperature
