Can someone tell me how I can change the fan settings. I thought my fan was going bad. I was about to replace it when I read a thread about a lower tem stat. I thought I would try this first before I purchase a new fan. I think the previous owner may have raised it. Thanks for your help.

Need to find a shop with LS1 edit software on a laptop. Can change the settings this way. Also, can purchase a fan controller from one of the Corvette Vendors.

I have a C5, year 2000, Hypertech III handheld programmer that will adjust those fan turn-on/off points for you. It's very simple to use. It has optimal settings for the 160, 180 and stock thermostats. It also will allow you to program a ton of other stuff, if you wish. I will sell it cheap....a lot cheaper than you can pick up a fan controller or another programmer for. Let me know if you are interested. It has been returned to stock and includes box, directions, decals, cables, etc. It's like brand new. The only reason I'm selling it is that I had a head/cam job done on my car and had it LS1Edit dyno tuned. I don't need it anymore. PM, email or post back to this thread and I'll get back to you right away.

BTW, I agree that the cars get awfully warm sitting in traffic. However, the upper limits on these fans are factory set at somewhere around 226 degrees! That being said, there is an optimal setting, for the stock thermostat, with the Hypertech programmer that will lower that stock fan setting and allow the car to run cooler. If you want to go lower still, you can out in a Hypertech 160 or 180 degree thermostat, and the Hypertech programmer will optimize the fan settings on these for you, also.
