I'm installing a set of Dynamax headers this weekend, and since I have to pull the plugs, I was considering new ones. 2002 stock coupe with 18000 miles.
Should I install new, and if so, what have you found to be better than the stock ones?

if you are installing headers you should definitely take advantage and change out the plugs. i use NGK TR55 plugs. They are a real good performance plug, but a generally shorter life (15-20K miles).

Great plugs! Replaced the originals on my '98 but as mentioned they were not in bad shape! At 40,000 I didn't want them to seize so removed them and figured I might as well replace. BTW, GM doesn't recommend antiseize, just a drop of motor oil on the threads.

index the tr-55's and with a better plug wire (jacob's). Contary to what some think, The car will run, idle and start better. Changed mine with in
the first thousand miles.

ngk tr55, part #3951, available for $15/8; notice how the japanese cars will schedule maint for plug change at 30k miles? this among other stringent maint schedules is one of the reasons they last so long(i only drive imports when there's salt on the road)
at $15 it's a good idea to change them every year, or at least pull them to check how each cylinder is doing; running lean/rich? burning oil?
i always suggest swapping in the ngk's when doing header installs
advance auto parts and napa has ngk, autobone uses denso(in the northeast area anyway)

i just looked up the TR55's and they're gapped to .60 .. i thought the plugs had a gap of .40
