Default Corsa indy question

Im about to order corsa indy exhaust and long tube headers. my question is if i should run the indy's catless with the long tubes or not. any sound clips would be great. let me know what you guys think, i do like it loud, but not pull me over loud. i was thinking about going with dynatech longtubes but the package comes with hi flow cats and im not sure if it will be to my liking considering with the hi flow cats it might be to quiet. thanks in advance.

I have the Corsa indys with Kooks headers, 3" xpipe, no cats and boy is it obnoxiously loud when you are at any throttle position more than 15%. I temporarily borrowed the Corsa from a local C5 owner when I put on my Tigershark rear bumper on until my new exhaust shows up. On his car with cats and stock exhaust manifolds it was just right. But on headers and no cats its way to loud. Every cop in a 1/4 mile radius will hear you. I dont think even high flow cats will make it quieter very much. I ordered the touring edition instead...

FLP long tubes, high flow cats, Corsa Indy's. Nice heavy growl at cruising, at WOT it screams like NASCAR and is deffinately an attention grabber.

At regular speeds the cabin noise is deffinately above stock, makes hearing on a cell phone mildy annoying but not bad if you shut the radio off and keep the windows up.

Heads/cam, TPIS long tubes, 3" mid pipes, no cats, x-pipe, Corsa Indy's here. Very LOUD at 1/4 or more throttle. As loud as open headers @ WOT. If I could switch back to 2 1/2 mid pipes with cats, I would. Too loud now.

Traded my Indy's for a set of Z06 Ti's after the header/hi-flow cats install. It was not over the top loud but it was loud. I found myself short-shifting more than I really wanted to just to keep it quiet. I knew I was going to do a H/C which would put it way over the top. Z06 was too quiet until the H/C but now it's just right.

I put the Indies on my car and they souded just about perfect IMO. I added LGM long tubes and they became VERY loud under acceleration (with Random cats). Under wide open throttle you can hear the car for miles. Cruising around normally they are tame. If I could do it again I would go with the Touring knowing how much the headers increased the noise factor under power.

Also without the cats on you will get a fuel smell in the car. I would go with the cats.

I have the very set-up, Dynatech's, Hi-Flow Cats, X-Pipe and Corsa Indy's with a thunder racing cam, great Idle sound, like a corvette should sound like at idle, at WOT I agree, NASCAR other than that at crusing it sounds like a corvette should! It definitely gets attention if you want people to look.

For me for the neighbors if it early when I go to work, I love the sound! But its what your after and you are comfortable with. Recently went on a long 3 hour cruise and it was good not annoying, cell phone? I have a vert so thats a non issue for me!

Good Luck deciding!

Your profile doesn't say whether you have an A4 or M6. It makes a difference if your after quiet cabin at cruising speeds. With the M6 it's easy to keep the rpms down when you want the car to be quiet.

LG pros, RT cats and 3" mid pipes, corsa indys. The cats do quiet it down some in the lower rpms but no diff at WOT, and did reduce some of the poping on decel.

Personally I think it's a great set up. I'm planning to take the cats off.

I also have this exact same setup. Honestly, I love the sound. Idle is great, WOT is great, cruising is ok too provided you keep it under 15% throtle. However, as WKMCD stated, you will find yourself shortshifting to keep it quiet on city streets. (mostly at night) The downside is when you may 'want' to get on it a bit, you don't. (if you're considerate)

It does sound absolutly beautiful at WOT. The downside, is you can't get to WOT most of the time, because you will deffinatly draw attention from a LOOOOOOONG ways off. I would not suggest going cat-less... There is no need to make it 'louder' than the highflow cats, and they do provide some benifit.
