Problems if I disconnect the Climate Control Unit?

Problems if I disconnect the Climate Control Unit?

My Climate Control unit has the dim LED problem and I was planning on pulling the unit to get it fixed by one of the vendors that can repair the unit that are referenced in multiple threads here in the forum.

If I pull the unit can I still drive the car or does it mess up any of the electronics, cause codes or other problems?

I pulled mine out last Thursday and have been driving it since, waiting for the guy on ebay that charges $40.99 to send it back. No codes, pulled codes and it just says "HVAC - NO COMM". HTH

I agree.
I shipped it for next day delivery and agreed to pay and extra $20 to get return next day delivery. I took it out on Sunday, shipped monday. David ( same guy) repaired it on Tuesday and shipped it back Tuesday, I had it Wednesday and re-intstalled it Wednesday evening. No codes, no problems.
Works better than new (brighter)

Doh! I didn't even know about the extra $20 for next day shipping. I pulled mine thursday and sent it 2nd day on Friday. I Was holding off to keep using the AC, now I wish I had it back so I could use the heater!

I pulled mine off and sent it to Dave, Drove car for a week with no problem. Got unit back and installed it and it works great. He does a great job fixing those things.....

The default (without the HVAC unit in the dash) is vent, blower isn't running, but when the car is moving, you can feel air coming out the vents. Was hoping it would show up yesterday as I had half the dash off to do the "Silver Leafing pen" dash bezel mod.
