Ecklers wants like 60 bucks for this, WCC wants 40. Either way, this piece of rubber should only cost about 5 dollars to make at home, right? Does anybody have the measurements to make this?
Smooth Coupler/Bellows. Got to be the biggest ripoff mod in the Corvette Tax world. I think I paid 10 bucks for the one on my Z28.
TIA -
P.S. I would dismiss as a do nothing mod, but Goss of Gosses Garage was on Speed talking it up like the Second Coming of Horsepower :-)
I saw that Goss Gargage thing, but then I remember when Goss stated on MotorWeek (probably over 10 years ago) that "unintended acceleration" was real problem. For the younger C5 owners, this was a phenomenon where the car went to full throttle, accompanied by complete brake failure, and the car in question went through a garage door, building, church, etc. Examination of the car afterwards showed no failure in any system. Road & Track looked at it, as did Audi, and found that driver error was the real culprit. This BS caused the demise of the Audi 5000 series, and the hand wringers and pantywaists on PBS, CBS, NBC and ABC had a field day with it. However, when scientific data proved the driver was at fault, there was nothing. In any case, I haven't trusted Goss since.
I remember seeing a post on this a while back. If I remember correctly I think someone used a rubber seal used in home plumbing. Home Depot has several of these in various sizes already made with different sizes on each end.

I once tracked those down and found they didn't make dual diameter couplers. It was impossible to get the Fernco piece to slide over both the differing diamaters.
Does anyone have a possible newer Fernco part number I can try to locate ?
