Wsup all, I am new to the board. I am picking up my first C5 this week. 97' Cherry, black on black, 6 speed.
I'm in the San Antonio area.

Anyways, I am looking for some fist mod's advice and prices. If anyone has some tips, they are all appreciated.

First of all, WELCOME TO THE FAMILY

You're going to love driving America's #1 origional legendary sports car.

Get a feel for it first and then most people start with the intake and exhaust.

Vararam is your best performance intake on the market, it can be had for about $310.

For exhaust, I'd say Borla Stingers sound the best, not tooooooooo loud and a perfect deep rumble the stock exhaust does not have.

This is the best and only site you'll ever be needing .....tons of info on here and the best members too.......but for mods, my favorites are westcoastcorvette.com and corvettecentral.com

Good luck with it. here's your first wave from a fello texan...

btw, you might want to post this on the General section of this forum, you'll get more responses there.

WELCOME!! Congrats on the new vette.

Good advice above. Exhaust and intake are the first steps. I have a donaldson blackwing intake ($230). It is a nice alternative to the vararam and easier to install. Exhaust is really about personal preference. Get together with some forum members and find out what kind of an exhaust tone works for you. After that, exhaust headers are the way to go to gain some exhaust horsepower.

Here are some good sites:

have fun!
