Well guys hopefully someone here can help me out, I have a vision for a new project and just don't have the answers.
What I'm wanting to do is to Pro-Street a C-5, I know I have seen several C-5's on this forum that have been tubbed but I want the full PS look.
WANTS
Tubbed / Full not mini
Blown BBC
Full cage
Full custom interior
QUESTIONS
Obv. give up a.c.
Assume I will have to go to custom gauges?
What about stock brakes, susp and wiring?
Anybody here ever build a pro-streeter before and can tell me about all the nightmares I'm going to have, intially really wanted to do a C-1 but I figure I can buy a high mileage C-5 for a lot less $$$$ and then spend it on the go fast parts.
Thanks in advance for any help,
Bob
WOW, I can't beleive that I have had 53 views and nobody can help or has a comment, I kinda even expected some negative comments about tubbing a C-5 but nothing?????
I'll continue to hold out hope or does somebody know of a good shop in the midwest that could handle a project like this?, please pass on their number and I'll give them a call.
Bob
Never built a Pro-Streeter, but could suggest LG Motorsports (a Forum Vendor) in Wylie, TX (NE of Dallas). They build racecars for the World Challenge and could probably help you.
Two options: Stock style rear suspension You can go as small as a 16" wheel like ccw's or the like and not spend a whole lot for a decent drag car. Or option 2 =$$$$$ solid rear axel with a 4 link and a front mounted trans! Find a good chassis shop to build a tube chassis since you would have to cut out the back bone of the frame. By the way scrap the 50 year old bbc for a 427 ls1 with a pair of turbos! http://www.lingenfelter.com/C620054271038hp.mpg
