Infamous Reduced Engine Pwr/Srv Trac Issue
Okay Guys (& Gals):
I've got a 98 C5 and having the infamous Reduced Engine Power/Service Traction Control issue. Reading past threads, there are many issues that could be causing it -- but the most common issue seems to be the TAC Module. We are experiecing a little different scenario and before running out and buying a TAC Module wanted to post a note to see if we can any different feedback. The codes we're getting are: P1221, C1226, C1278 and B2723.
Now the difference we are experiencing is that when we turn the traction control off, the reduced engine power/service traction control/abs doesn't seem to trigger. Therefore, hubby is thinking that this issue may be traction control related rather than TAC Module related.
What we have done so far . . . hubby has cleaned the two underhood chassis ground connectors and has cleaned the LF tire/speed sensor (b/c of one of the codes above -- I think C1226).
Any expertise, input and suggestions are much appreciated. Thanks for your time and responses.
