As for the transmission at 250 degrees...like I said, it will never get that high. If your car is hitting 250 then there is something wrong with your cooling system or you're in the desert. No matter what I have ever done with either of my heavily modded vettes I have never seen over 232 which is a safe and normal temperature.
That is dependent on usage. On my very first DE day in Georgia, I got a tranny temp warning on my Z06 MN12 gearbox which comes in at about 274 degrees. I installed a tranny cooler before I went full on SCCA racing.
1. When we say "engine temps" are we talking about engine oil temps, or coolant temps. They are both different things, and need more explanation.
2. As for tranny temps on A4, what is normal ? I was running 180* on A4 with a B&M tranny cooler. But after adding the Transgo shift kit, I'm now running 215* in city driving and short distances.

I have to disagree here. My A4 as well as others that I have personally raced or did canyon runs with all got to 250 on the trannies !!!!!
