Default fob traning

1 turn the ignition key on
2 clear any warnings messages on the dic by pressing the reset button
3 press the options button on the dic sevseal times until the blank page is displayed then press and hold the reset button for two seconds
4 when the message fob training is displayed push the reset button once. the message hold Lk+unLk 1st fob in the dic will be displayed
5 press and hold the lock and unlock button on the fob simultaneously for b15 seconds
6 when a fob is learned the dic will diplay fob learned and then prompt you to learn the next fob
7 remove the key from the ignition.

Has the PCM or BCM been replaced or reflashed ?
If BCM was reflashed or re-programmed they could have hit the save button but by mistake saved a non American BCM flash which has FOB turned off so now it would not show any of the fob setting in options or the train mode.

Or if a P1631 error was tripping then it might turn off as if car did not have the FOB function

I did turn the key on..
I got the clear display..
But after holding it..(Reset button)..it stayed blank..
The key fobs did work a couple of weeks ago..and little by little..they woundn't work..I replaced 1 of the batteries..the prior owner said he had just replaced them before I bought 'em..

Mine was like that, too... barely seemed to work; I was always standing there next to the car repetedly pushing the buttons waiting to hear the doors unlock or see the trunk pop. Finally I took the fob apart, cleaned off the battery contacts (kind of scraped them down with an Xacto knife) and then gently bent the contact a bit so that they make a more solid contact. Then I retrained them and now my fob works resonably well -- it almost always works on the first push, and from much father away.
