Default Really Bad Night...

I've been out all night racing and so on.. I was rolling at 50 droped the hammer and sprayed n20 (dry, 100 shot) till the end of second gear. I have a rpm switch so it comes on at 3k and stops at 5.8k and i must be at wot. Well i pulled by this car like a bat outta hell then i hear a belt slipping noise really loud and think the other guys car is mest up so i look in my mirror and i see alot of white smoke, it was my car..

So I pull into some big parking lot and pop the hood... all i see is oil on everything (not a hole lot but splatters everywere)... Then i see that the hose that goes to the water pump (big one right by the tb) is almost off the water pump .. It looks like it moved a good 2 inches outta its grove and oil was all over the hose..

I used some plyers to fix to the hose and put it back were it goes.. and check the oil (see if im low) and it was good. then poped the anti-frezze overflow to see if oil was in it (praying i did not blow a gasket) and it was all anti-frezze...

Now I checked and the car is not leaking anything. But it seems like my exhuast is smoking more then it used to, but it was 40 outside so i dunno. I was about 20 miles from home and the oil pressure was good so i drove home. Now the car is sitting and i dont know if something is broke or not..

Then when I walk in the door my mom tells me my dad is in the hospital cause he fainted while out at the bar with my mom and friends.. and also my buddy that was with me when the car was messing up got robbed at gunpoint in mt. clemens today.. Today is not a good day.

So does anyone know why the car would of make that hose almost fall off?? and why it would leak oil from it?? I need some advise..

sorry if grammer/spelling sucks im not in a good mood and its 3:35am

I don't know what the problem is but since this sounds like a street racing thread you may want to edit that part out so this doesn't get locked while waiting for advice

Good luck with the car and hope your Dad is ok

Well the oil has to have had come from somewhere, you mention that there was oil splatters in the engine bay but did you see any evidence of anti-freeze all over the place? If the hose became disconnected it should have made quite a mess. Also if there is white smoke coming from your exhaust, your burning coolant. Its just my opinion but it sounds like you might have messed up a gasket, try checking your radiator for oil in the anti freeze, if it was a cold night like you said it may not have gotten into the overflow.

Hope this helps goodluck with your car.

EDIT: I had a friend who blew his head gasket but the car would not leak anything until it heated up quite a bit. Would run fine, until it overheated, didn't leak any oil that I can remember but he was going through alot of water it would leak, burn, whatever.

sounds to me like you popped a head gasket.tell tale signs are excessive white smoke out exhaust and cooling system being pressurized.

beside being illegal & stupid, your street racing is bad for our health; consider taking it to a closed track if you feel you need to prove something. bub

Yes, this could also cause the water pump hose to come off. Excessive pressure.

I do agree that at times street racing is bad, but there's a time and place for everything. He said it was the middle of the night, if your wives and kids are out in the middle of the night, street racing is the least of your concerns. I'm not speaking for all but there are plenty of places in my area were there are totally deserted areas of road where "steet racing" is nearly as safe as the track. Let me guess, all you guys when you were young were looking for a track!?!?!? Come on, with a little common sense, and some good looking around, you can usually find a pretty safe place to play. Some people don't have tracks anywhere near them, nor the time to drive all the way there, wait, wait some more, and wait a little longer to get one run down the quater. Like I said a little common sense goes a long way. I hope you find out what's wrong with the car, and hope your Dad is OK, good luck!!

Check your Harmonic Dampener pulley. The large bolt might have backed off (it's quite common for this to happen if you drive your car hard). That could have caused the belt to come off the water pump pulley. Also, there could have been some oil come out of the main oil seal when the harmonic dampener pulley loosened up. Just a thought.

Glad your Dad is OK.
