The left brake lights on my coupe do not work. There is power to the bulbs, which I changed (twice just in case I had faulty bulbs). The tail lights, turn signal, works just fine. Only the brake light on the left side as the right is just fine. I'm stumped and hope someone here can help out. Thanks in advance.
are you sure you have power to the brake lights?just because you have tail/turn signals, doesn't mean you have power for brake lamps.more than likely you have a bad turn signal switch or a bad ground.
DPD in my case I do have brake lights, except on the passenger side. I press the brakes and the driver side and middle brake light go on. I just put in new bulbs and still no luck.
I am going to pull the light out and jiggle the wires and see what is wrong.
i'm willing to bet you have a bad turn signal switch.when you press the brake pedal, power flows from the swith and through the t/signal switch out to he brake lights.move the steering column up and down[tilt]and see if you get them back,if so,you need a turn signal switch.
i haven't replaced one in my car,but have on a s@#t load of gm cars since hitler was a kid[i've been turning a wrench a long time].it is a common problem on any gm car with a tilt column[that is moved quite a bit],the switch is in the column under the clock spring.it is not that bad,but if you've never done it before,it is easy to screw up.
