my cruise ctrl decided to go on the blink for unk reason. i checked all the fuses (actually found the one for my underhood light finally hahaa) and all fuses are good. ck'd codes. no current codes. some history codes but i dont know what area to look in that controls cruise. when u flip the switch it wont set or anything, no cruise set/disengaged nothing on DIC. any ideas? i reset all codes to get rid of the history codes and just wondered if anyone had any ideas?
ok after codes were cleared i went for short test drive. again no cruise control working. came back, ck'd codes. only one present is PCM code 1571 H which from what ive always been told and always noticed on this thing is kinda normal fluke to pop up on an early C5. im thinkin that one is some sort of trac/ctrl code but that works fine-hehe it kicked in when i went for my test drive.
mines doing same thing corvette salvage yard said theres a module for it under the hood that goes out thats about as far as i know i think its about 200$
I had a similar problem with my A4 car. It turned out that the switch on the brake peddle was not adjusted properly. There are two switches on an A4. One is the brake lights and the other is cruise. The cruise switch is above the brake light switch. It needs to be fully closed when the brake peddle (or clutch peddle if MN6) is out. If the switch is not closed the Cruise will not function and will not show any indication of life.
One thing you can try is to go for a drive and use your toe to lift the brake (or clutch) toward you (away from the floor). With your toe holding the brake/clutch all the way out, attempt to engage the cruise. If it works or shows any sign of working then you need to adjust the switch. If you have an MN6 do this test on both the clutch and the brake peddles.
Good luck and tell us what you find.

ok...that is what it is. i can pull up the brake pedal and it will set but if i dont keep pressure up on the pedal it disengages...how the heck do u adjust this? ive looked and found them but i aint smart enuf to figure out how to adjust them......
The top switch near the top of the brake peddle is the cruise switch. To adjust it, you need to pull the plastic panel under the steering wheel. It comes loose if you get under the two push plugs near the front. There is also a push on clip in the rear near the brake peddle that must be removed. This will give you access to the two brake switches... You should be able to push the top switch forward a couple of click's so that the brake peddle will close properly. Try this and go for a test drive. Leave the plastic cover off until you are happy with the switch adjustment. Good luck. Let us know how this works out.
