Default Valve stem/Air pressure

A strange thing with the Valve stems it seems my air pressure gauge wont get a reading from the stem it looks as if the stem is recessed. Although i was able to put air in just don't know what the pressure is now I have two type of gauges the cheapy pencil type and a dial type Meiser Accu-Gage.
Anyone else notice this type of stem?

Have you had you tires remounted or changed lately or have you removed your sensor and replaced then with regular valve stems. It seems that someone has removed the stems that came with corvette sensor and replaced them with some short aftermarket stems inside your sensors.

No the tires and rims are stock 1.5 years old, i bought new never been in any shop, there is a rubber type of seal inside the stem surrounding the 'tip' it dosn't allow my gauge to seat all the way in to get a reading, i just went to the gas station near my house to see if he had a special type of gauge his is a Snap On large size pencil type it didn't work either.
So maybe someone can check theres to see if they have the seal in there stem. Thanks.
And so who should i bring this to Goodyear, or Chevy?
Goodyear would prolly say it's not there product,

Are you saying that all 4 are the same? (can't check) and have been that way since you got the car (1.5 years)? Or is it just one tire and started recently?

I'll take a guess and suggest that you have a set of the 6-sided valve caps with some sort of Corvette logo on them???

These caps have an O-ring in them that seals against the valve stem. Look in the valve caps and you will see the O-ring is missing... it's now in your valve stem... Take a small pick and pull the O-ring out and you will have no problems. I don't know what the solution is except to not use these caps and just reinstall the originals. Otherwise be prepared to remove one or more O-rings each time you want to check the pressure.

Good luck... GUSTO

I ran into this problem with a wheel and tire that I bought from another individual. If the valve stem was screwed in far enough for it to seal, it was too far recessed for the pressure gauge to work. I just replaced the valve stem with one from Autozone and every thing worked fine.

WOW right on, thats it i do have the Ant-theft 6 sideded logo caps, although i dont ever remember seeing the oring inside the cap(cause why would i have looked) there isn't any there now.
Thats just unbelievable that the o-rings would seat themselves in there, i guess under pressure of being screwed on tight. Im still shaking my head who ever of thought
Thanks to all and to GUSTO 14

Those o-rings are nothing but trouble. I got a cheap set of caps that have a FLAT ring in them, removed the rings and used the flat ones in my vette logo caps.......
