Feedback requested:hotter heat range/spark plugs
Thank you in advance for any first hand experiences you can pass along, now here`s the deal.
I have a 98 A4 vert and as is common on the earlier years the a/f runs on the rich side. I recently checked my plugs (Denso Iridium IT16 .60 gap) they read between med and dark gray.
I`m considering trying a hotter plug (1 or 2 heat ranges hotter) and I`m looking for first hand knowledge/feedback from those who have tried this change, before I go out and spend almost $12.00 a plug.
For the record, the car runs VERY strong as is and has the folowing mods:
Vararam w/K&N, QTP tri-y`s, Random Tech cats/x-pipe, B&B Bullet, Hypertech (mostly fan setings, line pressure, etc.)
And yes, I will be having A&A dyno tune once I deceide on heads/cam.
Thanks again, Rick
