Default List your upgrades...

I have a '98 with Borla Stingers, X-pipe and the Blackwing air filter. I want to take the next step which I assume is a set of long tube headers. Who agrees or thinks I should do something different next. And then what comes after that? I've seen "Stages" in catalogs but I'm doing it one thing at a time so that I can fell the improvment. Does anyone know of a good link for this kind of information?

Default Save your money

Save up your money and try to do it all at once. The amount of money you save could pay for one of your mods.Every time you install another mod you are spemding money that is wasted on labor.Better to wait and do them all at once.
My opinion on which mods should follow in order is my own opinion. Some of the fellows on the forum may or may not agree with my list.
1. Cam
2.Headers
3.Heads
If done all at once you would save a considerable amount of cash as the engine has to stripped to replace the above items.

I started out with similar mods as you. Ghl bullets with x-pipe and a Halltech Stinger. I then had 4:10 gears installed and it made a real big SOTP improvement. I then did the headers after that, and they gave the car a sound that is just killer. Sound so good I can't hardly keep my foot out of it. Next year I'll probably do the heads and cam. So now I would say different gears or headers. You'll enjoy either one.

I did the exhaust/intake thing then went for handling stuff. I am waiting to do heads/cam/ headers and a tune with a reputable tuner all at once to save labor and cut a good deal. Some guys (not me!) can get all into the motor and not goof it up, so I always factor labor in.

I guess what I am saying is headers is as far as you want to go with out a tune, just wait and do it all at once for about $3000-$3500, and have a car that blows your socks off until you get that bug again and go for S/C or turbo, or maybe suspension stuff.

I agree. I ended up doing a heads and cam setup when I did the rest of my mods and saved a considerable amount of money.
