Plan on swapping my LS6 clutch with the new C6 Z06 clutch (Clutch, Pressure Plate, and LS2/7 Flywheel). My current clutch has 60K on it, and doesn't slip much, but plan on putting BFG Drag Radials on them, and that will change things.
Anyhow, while the dealer/tuner is in there doing the clutch, what else do they need to do (i.e. master/slave cylinder, changing fluids, etc)??
I will be having them install a lingenfelter left side output shaft while there in there.
I would change the clutch slave and master cyl. the pilot bearing, also install bleeder hose. The 04 Z-06 hydraulics were updated I believe. While your in there you might as well put a DTE strut brace, if you don't already have one.
Could not agree more. And do not skip the bleeder. I bleed mine once a month. Some think that is too much, but it takes ~15 min. and will keep the slave from failing early. Wish the C6 Z06 clutch was out when I replaced my clutch.
Thats exactly what im looking to do now in the next two weeks, i took the car to the track with 335 drag radials and the clutch couldnt handle it. What master and slave to use? LS6? or the one in the LS7 since we are using the LS7 clutch? All help would be appreciated.
I used the C5 Z06 slave when ProStreet MotorSports installed my LS7 clutch and flywheel at the same time as the H/C. At first I thought I might need and adjustable master because the engagement was awfully low. After about 1k miles it came off the floor and feels fine now. It's a great clutch and I really don't notice much difference in pedal action compared to the stock clutch. It really sticks well with no chatter or any other negatives that I can find.
Hi there,
You'll want to use the LS6 slave because they are different than your setup. I would just purchase the clutch, flywheel and add the slave and pilot bearing.

So Gene (others), just replace the slave but not the master. I'm not familiar with the locations of these, is the slave down where the clutch is, and the master somewhere else which can be replaced easily without getting into the rear end? I'm really looking forward to the extra grip !!
Hi All,
The master is outside the trans and can be done any time needed. The throw-out bearing is part of the slave which is internal in the transmission! You certainly want to do that!
Now, LS2 and LS7 hydraulics are different and will not work, therefore you need to use LS6 hydraulics. We stock everything, although I have some clutches on the way.
Off the top of my head, pilot bearing is 9.xx, slave is 101.xx and the clutch setup is 524.xx
