Default Yeah, another VARARAM question.

Hey guys, I was wondering what the verdict was on the real danger of sucking water with the VARARAM? My 98' 6spd is a daily driver in Austin, and the last thing I want to do is kill my motor for a few extra hp's.

Would it be smarter to get a less aggressive intake, or say screw it, and get the VARARAM? Thanks.

Hey,

I have the vararam b2 and have not had any problems with it. My car is not a daily driver, but I have been caught in a down pour and didn't have any issues. I was worried about the same thing before I bought mine, but I have read about a few people who have them on daily drivers that live in places like Florida where it rains quit a bit and have not had any issues. It also depends on if you are going to be driving through really deep puddles. Supposively the vararam b2 has some kind of modifications to it to keep it from sucking up water into the motor. It is definetely one of the best cold airs out there in my opinion.

Hope this helps a little.

Cool, thanks. I think that's the direction I'd like to go. I'd hate to lose out on some power, you know?

Yeah I definetely hear you on the power loss. I was the same way. I try to get every little bit out of my car that I can. I know that Rick Anthony Motorsports was having a sale on the vararams for a while last week, but either way you should give him a call.

You will be fine with the Vararam. I have no problems here in New Braunfels, TX. Just don't go through any high water. And when you on the highway, its poring and there is alot of water on the road, stay back from other car and trucks. You know how big some of those puddles are on I35 and other cars and trucks can throw alot fo water at you when they hit one. Other than that you will have no problems...

Maybe this might help... I race jetskiis in the summer and we get water in our engine compartement all the time. We put these on our air filters, lets the air in but not the water.... maybe you guys can use this to your advantage....

Hey my 98 MN6 has the B2 on it. No worries. I don't drive it through 8 inches of standing water though
