I just finished putting a B&M High Performance Tranny Cooler in my car....Now I need to top out the fluids......I see the drain plug near the bottom of the pan....Is this were it needs to be topped off at???And if so....how, without spilling it all over the place??? Thanks, Phil...
If memory serves me correctly- I remember seeing one higher up as well...you have to use some kind of pump (manual or electric) to put in a lot of fluid...

I did the same cooler install & I lifted the car level, off a 4s & had a cheep little hand pump that fit the top of a transmission qt. bottle.I think its only 3-4$,bought mine @ Meijers, seen them @ Pep Boys,& Auto Zone too.Put in about1/2 qt.

Tranny leaking from the output shaft seal The car was low 3 quarts The new tranny is sitting in a crate in the garage ready to be installed when the rains finally come

It's a little tedious & time consuming with the pump I mentioned for large refills ,but doable if you don't want to spend more dough on electric pumps.I've also seen larger capacity hand pumps at Harbor Frieght, but you can't screw those in the top of a TF bottle. As for re-fill after a pan drop ,it usually 4-5 quarts.Where our filler plug is at you can't overfill the trans fluid,it'll just run out, (the fluid thats not needed). That little pump is great for Gear fluid too, thats why I bought 2
Dunno, but I believe nominal fluid capacities are listed in the owner's manual. That won't help the OP though, since he has added a tranny cooler.
The tranny cooler sould add about 1/2 a quart. The best thing to do is keep adding fluid( while the motor is running and shift through the gears ) until it starts coming out the top fill plug. That is exactly how much is needed
