Default C6 Z06 Shifter

Has anyone installed one in a C5?

I have and like my hurst shifter, but occasionally find it a bit notchy for casual driving on the streets....Also, my GF, who is my designated driver at times, has real difficulty driving a stick, let alone something as notchy as the hurst.

Has anyone driven C5's w/ both the C6 Z06 shifter, and the Hurst? Comparisons?

I ahve driven all 3 shifters. To be honest I would love the C6 shifter for everyday driving and the Hurst shifter for weekend driving. The C6 is very comparable as far a throw to the Hurst. The Hurst seems that it can take more of a beating.

You will not be unhappy with the C6 shifter if you need something that is better than the C5. IMHO the C5 shifter is just crap. The C6 is very smooth and so far I have had better 1/4 mile ETs with the C6 shifter over the Hurst (probably because I am still getting use to the extra effort of the Hurst).

A couple of members just purchased Z06 shifters and should add info here in a day or two http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show...6&forum_id=103

I have the std C6 shifter in my C5 and love it, but could be interested in a shorter throw if it did not increase effort too much or have other downsides.

wow they are saying 35% less throw than the stock C6 that would be less than the Hurst.

For people not banging gears (and maybe people that do) this would be a great improvement over stock C5 shifter...

I thought the ZO6 shifter and the C6 shifter were the same. I thought any difference was in the tranny. Anyone know for sure?

We have just made things easier. Although our site isn't fully finished, you can order either shifter tonight, while watching your favorite movie!!

Go to www.fredbeansgmparts.com

At the bottom where it says search By Oem Number, type in c6z06shifter or c6shifter and add it to your cart! Thanks!

Gene,

That website is a huge feature! Considering your prices, and now the ease of ordering, the other vendors are in even more trouble!

Also, we just got my son a '92 240SX. Does your Nissan parts inventory handle something that old?

Thanks again, and have a good one,
Mike

Hi Mike,
Thanks for your comments. I am looking to cause MORE trouble with the website, ha-ha.

We sure can handle a 92 240SX. Soon we add Saturn to the stable. We need some Saturn Ions to run these Vette's lol.
