I recently purchased a 2000 Coupe with only 6,114 miles. After reading several informative threads I have a couple of general questions. First, I've seen many people categorize their Vettes as A4 or MN6. What does this mean and how do I decifer what my prestine black beauty is?
Secondly, the original sticker for my Vette shows that I have the performace axle ratio option. What gear ratio is this?
Last, my first mod will be to open up her breathing and need to know what air intake to go with. Vararam looks like it makes the most sense by utilizing the existing contours of the front end to suck in air but I haven't seen many Vette owners talk about the Vararam. Any suggestions?
A4 is the automatic. MN6 is the six-speed. From your question on the performance axle, it appears you have the A4 with 3.15 rear gear. This makes the A4 a bit quicker than the standard 2.73 rear gear.
Others can comment on the Vararam. I went with an '04 Z06 airbox set up in mine.
Trust me, you will see many opinions about the Vararam. I went with one and were very satisfied with the track results. I had the help of a tech installing it. I personally would recommend it.
Just do a search on Vararam and you will find many posts about it.
Great find with a 00 with only 6k on it, just got mine last May with 17K on it and I thought I did good. Welcome.
