According to the "Corvette Black Book", it is located on a vertical pad just forward of the bell housing on the driver's side.

It's that big round part mounted to the rear of the engine that houses the clutch on stick shifts or the torque converter on automatics. On normal cars the transmission mounts to the rear of the bell housing.
