Default Key Fob losing programming ?

The key Fob transmitters for my 99 FRC keeps losing their programming. I've replaced the batteries, but the old ones tested perfect anyway. Here's what I don't udnerstand: If I do the 'transmitter training' procedure (per the manual) on one Fob, the other won't work. If I do the 'transmitter training' on both fobs, they both work (i.e., lock & unlock) properly - but only for a short period. I redid both Fobs last night (car battery had been disconnected and neither worked after reconnecting) and this morning, the one I had with me didn't work again. I will check the other tonight when I get home from work, but I assume it's stopped working too. I'm at a loss to figure out why they stop working. BTW, on my 04 Z06 I can disconnect the battery and reconnect and they still work fine. Neither of those has ever failed. Thanks in advance for any insight.

I'm sick of FOB problems, I ended repacing both of mine and the probelm went away. Don't ask me why they go bad as often as they do, they jsut do. I'm buying em from ebay as it is to costly to buy new every two years

Default Key Fob

I too have been having trouble with mine. I have an appt. with the local Chevy shop next week. They were going to go into the computer and the memory system of the car. They didn't even concider the fob.
Does your car have the 2-driver settings that include the mirrors?

No, this is on a 99 FRC. The one Fob is losing it, but the other worked over night? The one that lost the programming this time has a new battery and I cleaned the contacts, etc. I will use it for the spare keys right now and check eBay for another one. Thanks, Paul

I've got a similar problem with mine. The primary FOB works fine but the second one doesn't. I can reprogram them and they both work for a while but then the second one quit functioning.
