Default Considering more mods

I have an 02 Z06 which is currently stock. I have a PTK turbo kit on the way for it this winter. I know that this will make plenty of power, but as we all know , you can never have too much. I love the power, but I don't want to saccrifice too much driveability.

I am considering going with some different heads and cam that will work better with the turbo. I have also considered a forged shortblock for some extra power an insurance.

As far as heads go, do I really need to get the "BEST" ones out there or will it really even make much difference with the FI application.I know that there are a bunch of heads out there to choose from.

I have heard that the stock 02 cam works fine with FI, but I kind of like the sound of a cam in the car. I know that this sounds silly, but I like it.
Any suggestions?

For the shortblock, I will use the stock crank, but not sure about the pistons or rods. I would like to run around 15#'s if I get the shortblock built. Any suggestions on what else I might need?

Thanks,
James

Forged assembly is always a good idea no matter what, especially when boosted. As far as heads go I would get a set of CNC'ed LQ9 heads to lower the compression and make better use of the new turbo. I personally have Patriots. If you do it with the heads (VS. dished pistons) it can always be returned by re installing your LS6 heads. A cam is pretty much a no brainer if you have had the block done at that point. It just goes on from there. Lifters, pushrods, rockers, chain.....

Thanks for the input.

I am all but sure that I will go ahead and have the bottom end built up at this point. I know that it will cost a bit more, but I think that it will save me alot of trouble in the long run.

How do you like the Patriots? How much did they give you? They are way cheaper than anything else that I have looked at. The guy who will do the engine for me speaks highly of them. I am not really sure though.
