Default Hot Cam Kit

Does the GM Generation III Hot Cam kit require a tune after instaling. Also what kind of numbers can i expect with this and a few bolt ons on a 02 six-speed? Thanks guys

Same cam I am planning on installing. Have been doing a lot of reading on LS1tech.com. It is very easy on the valve train, uses LS6 springs with no issues on changing them as often as with other high-lift cams. Most everyone says you will need a tune to make it run it's best. The HP numbers very with what bolt-ons are used, from 360 to about 380. Some guys are using 1:8 rockers for added lift. Cam specs: 219/228 Deg duration, .525/.525 lift, 112LSA, target rpm range 2200-6500, has very noticable lope, which is very appealing to most users. Common complaint is that most other cams will make more HP, but harder on the valve springs. Very flat torque curve which is excellect for the street.

I was going to try this cam but after researching this cam and getting opinions the consensous was that a more aggressive cam was a better choice because the labour to performance ratio was not worth the small increase in power.Try a TR 224 or talk to Allan a Futural cams. They can hook you up with a perfect cam that is easy on springs and streetable.JER

Do some more research. There are alot better cams out there now. The hot cam is an old design...
