Ok, either my pump has been secretly swapped out or my sending unit is bad since I seem to have 102 psi. The search function is dead so I need to know where the oil sender is. Please tell me its not behind the intake near the firewall.
I have a customer who wants this problem fixed but he was afraid it was going to take forever...and he expressed his unwillingness to have the job done in such a way that i didn't even bother looking up the book time!.. Now i can quote him a realistic time to do the job. Thanks.
Although it is not as simple as most are, it is not as difficult as many make it out to be. Intake manifold does not need to be removed, just loosened and slid back an inch or so, to access the sender. A competant mechanic can do this job in less than an hour.
You can drive with a bad sensor (I did for about 3 weeks) but you won't know if your oil pump takes a dump. I've heard about early Z06's having low pressure due to foreign stuff keeping bypass valve open
You guys should really go through my DIY guide posted above. It's a lot easier than you guys think.. should take about the same time as doing an oil change.

Agreed! I used the guide to change mine out. First time it took about 2.5 hours, second time about an hour, including beverage breaks.
Yes, until your pump really takes a dump on you, cause you won't know until the motor is toast.
I've noticed with mine it reads exactly dubble on the digital read out. So a little quick math in my head and i know whare my psi is at, just in case I loose my oil psi.

Top end of the scales are different. I.E. gauge maxes out at 60 PSI, DIC maxes out at 120. Either way those readings aren't correct. If the scales maxed out at the low end, what would happen?? Double zero (0) is still zero Just teasing, anywho, get the sending unit fixed, it could help one day.
