Default Has anyone else besides me?

Is this the cure for running no tire pressure sensors?
I just swapped out my tires and wheels to make a trip south, on my 1997 C5. The wheels I took off had the tire pressure sensors in the wheels.
The wheels I replaced them with does not have the TPS installed in the wheels. The valve stems in these wheels are "rubber valve stems".
It seems the DCI does not register the tire pressure because of the rubber valve stems. SO no annoying warning sound goes off, or a showing of lack of tire pressure readings. Has anyone else tried this?
Thanks

This is very intersting I am about to change out rims and tires and was thinking about not using the Tires sensors since 1 is already out and I don't see a problem not running them. Please keep me informed on what happens after 100 miles on them..

Thanks

it's a 97 there is no way of disabling it.

if it were an 01 or above you can disable it through the dealership ..

I have a Y2K, and drove it for weeks, many hundreds of miles, without pressure sensors. No bells or warning messges. If I called up tire pressure on the DIC it read xxx, but no other issues.

Thanks for that positive input...this up coming trip will let me know if there is no problem with running without TPS.

You will have to clear the message for tire sensors everytime ou start the car but no bells or anything else.

Took mine off when I put on new wheels sinc 2 weren't working and i've been to lazy to replace batteries in them.

Will you have to clear it for each sensor or just one time for all??

Thanks for the reply...I haven't gotten a message as of yet. I'll keep that in mind.

I swap back and forth between stock wheels with sensors and Z06 track wheels with no sensors. Around town the sensor warning never goes off since I come back to the garage where the wheels with sensors are stored. If I get 40 + miles away and some times up to 100 miles it finally goes off and then continues to do a start up warning until I get back home. It usually gives warning for all four tires at same time but once it kept reading for one wheel longer than others, no idea why.
