Default Security System Question

I have an 03 vert 6sp manual. Is it supposed to "chirp" to confirm when I've locked the car from the outside with the remote? Most other late model cars these days will let you know when you've successfully secured the vehicle...my vette doesn't do this?? Is there a manual setting that is unselected? Can't find anywhere in the manual that addresses the "chirping" confirmation. Thanks...

There is an option in the setup menu to do that but off the top of my head I can't remember exactly how. I know because I turned mine off to keep peace with the neighbors who found it so anoying early in the morning or late at night. I'm sure someone will have more details.

not sure if they are all the same or not...but on my 97 this is configured thru the DIC by pressing options...then you can adjust several functions of the key FOB- lights only, horn only, both, unlock one door or both etc...

I have a 03 mn6. Go to the options section of the DIC. The owners manual will lay out all the choices and how to configure them. My horn honks when I lock it, and the lights come on when I unlock it. Those where my choices.
