Default HP Gain Question???

I just put on B&B Bullets, and while I know it's just a catback, it's a very free flowing catback. I've seen claims on B&B's site and in adds that you can gain 22hP by putting on Bullets. While I would be skeptical of that large of a gain, it really does feel like I've gained some power. Or, maybe that's just the vibration and exhaust noise from the Bullets! While I know I'm still excited by the newness and volume of the Bullets, it does feel like some gain.

Also, I just removed the screen from my MAF. I've heard that's good for a few hP, but I can't remember what I've heard as an expected gain from that.

I don't feel like paying for a dyno run just for this stuff. I'll wait until I do the cam and underdrive pulley in spring 2007 and then get a pre and post dyno. But, thanks for any educated guesses, or setting me straight as to there being no gain if that's the case!

I would guess that Yes, you have gained a few HP. It does outflow the stock Corvette exhaust and the screen removed from the MAF will allow more air in. I dont think you gained 22HP, (although I know nothing about the stock exhaust except it doesent flow as well as the Z06 Ti's) probably more like 5-8 max but any HP is good HP.

Figure a gain of five to eight hp. Enjoy the sound of your new catback.

I have a 98 C5 A4 3.15 rear with 70,000 on the clock bone stock it ran 14.01 at 102 MPH on runflats After a full tune up,(spark plugs, fuel filter, and so on........)and a used SLP LOUDMOUTH catback i got from a forum member I ran a 13.69 at 103 MPH on the same tires, so as far as gains I would think a catback means alot as far as HP not just sound but sounds a BIG + I'm sure the tune up had alot to do with it too
