I've got the Borla Stingers with the Borla X pipe and I really love the sound when you get on it but it seems that during regular driving I get a lot of burbling and popping when I shift gears...Is there anything I can do to get rid of that sound?
Nope. That is part of the deal. I personally like the "burbling". One thing about the Borlas is they don't pop on deceleration hardly at all unlike a lot of the other aftermarket cat backs.

I also have the Stingers (quad round). It does the same sound. I was informed that the X pipe would eliminate the noises. Glad I didn't spend the $ on the X.

yea but the x-pipe scavenges the exhaust better. I like the sound my borlas make on deceleration and when shifting.JMO

i have the magnaflow x pipe with my borlas quad ovals. they don't pop at all. are you running an aftermarket intake? that might be the difference, also the magnaflow pipe is a nice piece.
i went from SLP Loudmouths, to the Stingers... TRUST me, the stinger "pop" or "burble" is NOTHING compares to the SLPs
if anything, i wish there was more of it...or a louder sound to the exhaust when not at WOT

Get a Tru X-pipe like Magnaflow or Bassani. Essentially the same. Also West Coast Corvettes has a Magnaflow knock-off for a few bucks cheaper. I still have that great stinger sound but a smoother more refined one!

Might have to do with the year. I had Stingers on a 98, lot's of burbling etc compared to Stingers on my 01. I think it has to do with the pre-cats slowing things up.

Chris
a smoother sound is definitely what I'm looking for, it just doesn't sound mean(unless at high rpms), more like its sick..like when i'm driving at 55mph in 5th gear and let off the gas it does it real bad...and if I downshift sometimes its so loud it sounds like a backfire, maybe i should try a new x-pipe
If you want to get rid of that, go with Magnaflow or Bassani X-pipe. I have Stinger duals, but I like that burbling. After I installed Dynatech LT headers, sound almost gone, but a much more richer exhaust note, and window rattling at WOT. I do belive the key is the Bassani style X-pipe, which is found on most LT headers anyway, and used by magnaflow
