Default Shifter started to vibrate !! Long post !!

I will try to keep this short. I installed an A&A Procharger last week and a friend came by today for a test ride.. The Procharger turned my car into a real beast but that is another story. I took my friend for a short ride, no power shifting, burnouts or anything like that as I'm still getting use to it's power. I did 3 or 4 3/4 acceleration runs in 2nd and 3rd. It does really accelerate but no abuse at all. On our way back to work the shifter, B&M ripper that has been quiet for 3 yrs. started vibrating mostly in 4th. I drove it 15 miles home and the noise was nearly gone so I thought I would give it a good run in 2nd and then the vibration was abot 95% gone. So i thought if 1 is good 2 is better and than the vibration was worse than when it started.. It is very noisy in 3rd and 4th. I jacked it up tonight and everything looks good and tight underneath...

It does have 410 gears that have never made a sound in 12 mos. Again the car was not abused only hard acceleration and by the way it really does accelerate

Any ideas????

Editing post........... I did not state the problem clearly. I don't feel the problem is with the shifter at all. It seems like something shifted during the hard acceleration and is causing the shifter to vibrate.. as you let on and of the gas it is like you can hear the ring and pinion, or tranny gear noise amplified thru the shifter. I will check underneath again today and then check the shifter... Thanks for listening

From what I have seen so far, the vibrating/buzzing noises are a usually from the shaft and shift ****. Several of the aftermarket shifters use a one piece solid shaft and they sometimes transmit vibration noises up through the shaft into the ****. You may remember that your factory shifter had a "fat" section of the shaft. The factory shaft is actually made up of two pieces and the "fat" area is where they both go into a molded rubber sleeve. This eliminates any chance of vibration noises, but it also contributes to a bit more of a "rubbery" feel when shifting.
Recently I saw a B&M shifter that has this same rubber insulator made into the shaft. The guy behind the counter says B&M calls their "Sport" shifter, so maybe they are selling it in addition to their "Ripper" shifter which has the one piece shaft. You might look into it and see.
BTW, some ***** seem to be more prone to making noise than others. I have a one piece solid aluminum **** and sometimes on hard acceleration it makes a bit of a light buzzing noise too in certain gears. During normal driving it's usually quiet.
Check your shifter and make sure all the bolts are good and snug too. HTH

Robert, thanks for the reply. If all else looks good I will check the shifter mounting tomorrow.

Buy a stick-on wheel weight at an auto parts store, Take the shifter boot off, stick the weight to the side of the gear shift shaft, reinstall boot. That was a tip I got here about 5 years ago to stop vibration of the Ripper shifter. Worked for me.
