Default SHE IS ALIVE!!!!! But.....

Man oh man, I just heard the sweetest sound in the world. She fired up today. Only took three cranks and then roared to life. After 2 years of hard work and many set backs, I could not believe my ears. I felt unbelieveable.

Turns out it was the neutral position sensor that was causing the problem why she would not start. THANKS to FFR-ZO6 for sending me the spare!!! The idle was pretty good with only a little surging. THANKS to 'Slowhawk' here for doing the tune. Awesone job and great price.

Now the bad, bad, news...... After about thirty seconds, still no oil pressure. So I shut her down. How long does it take for a new motor to build pressure? I have heard about 15 to 20 seconds. I also have an oil cooler installed, but that should not have too big of an affect should it?

Does anyone have an idea what would cause the no oil pressure? Both oil gallay plugs are installed, the o-ring between the oil pump and pick up tube was checked and rechecked in the install. I pulled the valve covers and there is oil in both heads. More importantly there is oil in driver's side head.

OMG, this has been such a downer finding this. I certainly hope it is something simple.....

If your getting oil to the heads you should have some pressure. I would dubble check that the sending unit is pluged in. I'm not shure if it defalts to 130 psi(max on the digital read out) or 0psi. Worth checking, if you can get your hand back there.

I am pretty sure it is plugged in, but it may have gone south. I am just too D2mn depressed right now to check it. Thanks for the idea though.

When you have a new motor you are supposed to prime the oiling system before you start it.I am not sure how to prime an ls1 but maybe you shoud crank it over until there is pressure before you run it(dissconnect the coil packs or something)JER

Are you using a double roller timing chain? If so, it could be the spacer for the oil pump is installed backwards, blocking the oil hole. If not, I'd check the sensor first.
