Default Cutting FRONT bushings...

Got some time today and thought I cut them. Anyway to do that quick without having to drop all the control arms, etc? Cause if i do that, I might as well take them out. Anybody got a link to a writeup? I cant seem to find one on Ls1howto.com. Bout ready to go out there and figure it out i guess on my own.

There is no way around it. I wish it was that easy.

You're right. Just finished though. I decided to go half way and cut the bushings but not take the bolts out. I did that because it was too much a pain in the ar$e to drop the control arm completely. I just undid the shock bolts and was able to work a saws-all into the grove and cut off 2/3rd's of the bushings. Hopefully that will drop me enough now to keep the right ratio in front to back.

Wish I would have thought of the that. I dropped the control arm and used a palm grinder with a cut-off wheel. Do you have the Z51 suspension? I had to cut all of the bushing off to get the look I wanted!

I did mine without taking anything apart. What I did was I jacked up the front by the subframe, Then I put a jack stand under the leaf spring on the side I was working on. Placing it as close to the bolt as possable, in the opning in the lower a arm. Then I lowered the car slowly until I had enough clearince to sneak the bolt out. Rember to put another jackstand under the car so it wont fall if anything happens. IF you unbolt the control arm, When you retighten the bolts with the car lifted the bushings will be twisted when you lower the car. Then they will fail prematurely, not to mention you will need to have it realinged due to the essentrics.

Here's hoping I didn't do that!

I dont have the Z51 suspension. Wish I did. But, in this case it helped.

I ended up cutting all the bushing off the front and 2/3s off both in the back. I think I'll be happy with this height..at least for while. Not much lower to go on stock setup though...
